winter solstice, snow pixies place gossamer kisses on your ruby cheeks; Apollo places frosted dewdrops on the inside of your eyelashes - framing tanzanite innocence. mother wind wonders at your form, curled over like a snowdrop waiting to taste clean air for the first time: she catches your feather fingers in her cold palm, marvelling at how she has given birth to spring. He wasn’t familiar with the sound of the car. Maybe if he’d known he would have had time to move, but Samson was a cat who had spent the whole of his life sheltered inside, his whole life up until the day his human had carelessly left the front door open while bringing in her groceries.
